Hot pot trips.

  Hot pot,maybe it is the normal English term for a popular food style in China. In Mandarin Chinese language, we call it Hu Guo. Hot pot is really popular in China whatever which season it is, especially during the winter season of mainland. Of corse,there are many ways or versions that we can experience the hot pot around the world,but I only know how to cook Chinese hot pot and experienced the services of Chinese restaurant before I came here in the Philippines. So since I came here in the Manila ,Philippines,I have been to King One hot pot restaurant several times and also the David's tea house for eating the hotspot once. The hot pot there both in King One and David 's tea house. Are Hong Kong style .there are differences between the hot pot that that I have ever experience in China before.

For the King One hot pot restaurant ,it is a hot pot buffet restaurant ,the waiters greeted us once we entered the door, we one of the waiter led us picked up the seats and there are already meal equipments on the table, waiter clean the table up again and settle down the spoons and folks for us according to how many people are going to dine in around this table. Then the waiter let us checked the menu ,the menu does not include too much commands/orders,only some orders which are need to cook for a while like silkies (black boned chicken )pot ,desserts,etc, the rest of them are drinks ,including soft drinks, tea drinks and shakes,etc.

Usually the hot pot buffet is 599 php for each,there are still some additional cost if you want to have other orders. I ordered the water melon shake cause I think that is the best pair with the hot pot. But actually you could change your drinks once you got the glass of your drink, it was like self service . The waiter served vinaigrette and soya sauce, he cut the garlic,green onions,chili into small pieces before put them in the small bowls . I mixed my sauce by two small bowls, one is the regular taste ,the other one is spicy sauce. I did know how hot is the chili then I tasted a little bit of my sauce it was impressed me, really spicy! Maybe because they cut them into small pieces so the spice elements just ease out. Then I went to picked up my foods,there is a food chain in the dining lobby, waiters are putting different meats,vegetables and meat balls into small plates.only limited pieces vegetables or meat balls are in the plate,the advantage of that kind of way is it can save food for avoiding waste of source. And also, whatever how much you want to eat, it is your call to decide.
I found out local people ,they do not prefer eating lamb meat for the hot pot, but for me ,it is like a necessary if there are lamb meats available. The rest of kinds meats are beef,fish,pork, chicken,etc. Not only meats, aside from them, I actually prefer vegetables, I ate lots of vegetables not only because I think it is delicious, but also it is good for my health. I could say the taste of King one is nice, Hong Kong style hot pot, one of the characteristic is fresh,the meaning of fresh here is the original taste of the food itself,whatever is it, lamb ,beef, fish, or the seafoods, you could enjoy the fresh taste of them, it is depend on you whether eat them with the mixed sauce.

Aside from King One, I have been to David' s tea house once for eating the hot pot there because of the treat from my friend. Unlike the buffet hot pot in King One. David's tea house provide the Hong Kong style Shabu Shabu by bordering the foods which you want . Different kinds of meat , vegetables,seafoods are listed on the menu. After we settled down the waiters went to prepare the ingredients of the hot pot. They served the ingredients of hot pot and stand just not far away from the table just for waiting our orders. The sauce there is tasted even better than the sauce in King One. We could put any foods in the pan since the hot pot boiled. Also the soup of the hot pot is delicious. The meat balls in David's tea house are tasted nice vegetables are fresh,and the most memorable food for that time was the living prawns, the prawns still jumping up in the plates so the waiter has to cover them with another plates, before the waiter put them into the pan, some of the prawns just jump into the hot pan themselves. And just need a while they are already boiled became into red color and ready to eat, it tasted very yummy and even had a little sweet, that means the prawns were totally alive fresh. David's tea house will operate from 10am until 11pm for the hot pot, and it also have another fine dine in lobby for Hong kong foods.

Hong Kong style hot pot is nice ,and so do the Hot pot in mainland China, they do have their own characteristics. Sometimes I desire hot pot so much then I will cook it by myself, even the hot pot is differentiated by different regions, but people do enjoy the hot pot.
