UNO seafood restaurant.

UNO located in Escolta, Manila, the former business district, Uno can be easy to find because there are only two Chinese Restaurants in the area, Uno and Crown Prince.I got the chance been to UNO seafood restaurant because of the celebration of winning the champion of goodwill game with commerce team. To be honest, it seems the restaurant is already old and not too clean. But the service their is not bad.

In Uno Seafood Wharf Palace, you will find tanks of fresh and live fishes, and sometimes it is very amusing just to watch them swim. it features the traditional royal color schemes (gold and red) for the table setting.Different kinds of fresh seafood swimming in tanks, cold cuts and peking ducks hanging from their open kitchen, red and yellow colors all over the place for good luck, lazy susans, and freshly brewed tea before eating. Also, there are plenty of rooms/areas available for private celebrations such as birthdays and etc. During the dinner ,I heard several times that the wishing happy birthday service . A lot of people go there for celebrating their birthday.
  The waiters of Uno seafood wharf restaurant are quick and accurate, well trained. They are look like await orders every time. They do service completed , arrange the paltes and cups well, and help the customers cut the big parts of your orders. Another thing is the host brought the crispy pig from home, he let the waiter to help him seperate the crispy pig into small pieces, the waiters did it well and quick.They told me actually they called the crispy pig as Lechon in Filipino.
 While you are waiting for your oeders, they served us peanuts and hot tea. The funny thing is ,while I was using the chopsticks to get the peanuts, others were just use their hands. I think that is probably cultural differences.
  Because we are all big boys ,and eating together, the first served is Yangzhou Chao fan!!! and it was gone in a short time. I ate the Yangzhou Chao fan with the Lechon, but I felt the Chao fan tasted a bit sour. I do not know why. But the Lechon was good. The next is sauced shells and seafood pancit. Lastly they served the mango sago and siomai, chicken feet and spring rolls.

To be honest , the peking duck there does not mean the real and original peking duck which I have eaten in Beijing . It is more likely to the Hong Kong asado stlye.But it is still attractive.


I do not know what the full name of this kind of fish ,sometimes it makes me just could not want to eat it because the red skin of it. But for those crabs, I think it is fresh and looks like full of meat.


Actually, the food there did not impressed me too much maybe because the host of the celebration did not order those impressing food. But I think the mango sago is nice, at least it was my first time to try  it. It is made of fresh mango and sago, tasted cool and fresh. After that  I think I can make it by myself.
